What is power yoga?
Power yoga is a form of yoga based on Ashtanga yoga that strengthens and stretches your muscles and builds core strength. Power yoga is not a memorized series of poses. Each class will take you through a different sequence of poses where you will work your entire body, strengthening and stretching each muscle.
How much do classes cost?
Standard rates: $15 drop-in, $39 for a 3-class pass, $120 for a 10-class pass, $220 for a 20-class pass, $300 for a 30-class pass, and $145 for a monthly unlimited pass. All passes, except for monthly unlimited, are valid for one year.

Is there a minimum age requirement at yogapower?
You must be at least 16 years of age to practice at yogapower. If you are under 18, please bring a parent or guardian with you on your first visit so that he or she can sign a waiver for you.
For their safety, young children are not permitted in the studio.
If this is my first power yoga class, what should I expect?
We have students of all levels who attend each class and, beginners are always welcome. You'll be encouraged to learn at your own pace and take as many breaks as you need. If you've never experienced power yoga before, regardless of your current level of fitness, this will be a challenging and rigorous physical workout. Your first class can seem a little overwhelming, try to listen rather than watch and, know that each time you practice it will become a little more familiar.
You should wear comfortable but fitted clothes. Most people prefer longer pants to shorts to help avoid slipping.
You will need a yoga mat, towel, and water - all of these items are available to rent or buy at the studio.
It is recommended that you don't eat a full meal at least two hours preceding your practice.
Please remember to turn all cell phones and anything that beeps, rings, or vibrates off before entering the lobby.
If you need to leave class early, we understand however, please be sure to let the teacher know you'll be leaving early and, out of respect for your fellow yogis, exit the studio before savasana (you're welcome to finish your practice and take an earlier savasana before you leave.)
Try not to judge your practice, keep your sense of humor, and practice, practice, practice...
Is private instruction available?
Nothing helps you get more out of your practice than one-on-one sessions with your favorite instructor. Whether you have questions about doing certain poses correctly, would like to learn to "personalize" your practice to enhance your other physical activities, or you'd like to learn new postures to add to your practice, a private session will open your body and mind to new levels of strength, focus, and flexibility. To book a session, please send an email to yogis@yogapowerstudio.com and let us know with whom you'd like to schedule a private session. Single and package rates are available. There is also the option of "semi-private" sessions - a class for you and your best yogi friend is a great gift!
What will yoga do for me?
A lot of us first look to yoga for the physical benefits we've heard about (more flexibility, more core strength, weight-loss, better balance, better sleep, better sex life, etc.) or, we look to yoga because we're stressed out and hoping yoga might be the answer that will help us put some balance back in our lives.
Yoga can do all of the above and more but, you have to be open to it and... you have to practice. Each of these postures (asanas) that so many people have been practicing for so many years have many things to teach us and, we don't learn them all at once.
How often should I practice yoga?
Once a week is better than no times a week, twice a week is better than once... three-five times a week will really allow you to gain the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of everything your practice has to offer you.
As with starting any new physical program, please consult with your physician before practicing power yoga.
Is the studio heated?
We keep yogapower heated to approximately 88-90 degrees.
